Bio:

Tony Meade is a singer-songwriter, recording artist, engineer, and producer. As s solo artist, he has released three albums of original music, Not My Day (2010), Won’t Stop Singing (2015), and Turn It Around (2020), along with the singles-compilation EP’s The Long Way Round and Odds And Ends (both 2023) and a covers EP, Impossible Dream (2024). Tony’s Christmas album, Wassail (2020) and his singles “It’s Alright” (2021) and “A Walk In The Sun” (2022) were featured by Denver Westword as among the best local releases of their respective years. Tony has recorded and produced projects for many other artists and bands as well.

Tony is also a world-class uber-nerd who has studied the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien for more than two decades, and has regularly spoken on the subject since 2018 at many conventions, conferences, and events, including Denver Comic/Pop Culture Con, Fan Expo Denver, Nerd Nite Denver, and Fort Collins Comic Con, was the instigator behind Signum’s Denver meetup event, Mountain Moot. In addition, Tony has acted as scribe for the episode summaries of Signum’s long running  “Exploring The Lord of the Rings” series, providing written materials for both new students and future course legacy projects.

Tony has crossed both of these streams by producing musical tributes to the work of J.R.R. Tolkien and George R.R. Martin, including the original song “The Light in the West” for Signum’s “The Silmarillion Film Project” (season 5), his adaptations of Tolkien’s poems “Bilbo’s Last Song” and “Noel”, and his original Game of Thrones-themed singles, “Winter Has Come” and  “A Song Of Ice And Fire”.
